Emily Robertson is currently a doctoral student at the Sonic Arts Research Centre at Queen’s University in Belfast, conducting research in connections between graphic notation and the production of animated (graphic) sound in early film. She received a Master of Arts degree from the University of Maryland in Musicology and was designated an Enosinian Scholar at the George Washington University for the archival project that became the basis for this paper.
