Charlotte Stockdale is an illustrator who challenges simple notions of illustration and its creators.

Illustration has the emotional complexity and subtlety of fine art, as well as the purpose, or not, and direction of literature and poetry. Illustration has the same firmness of foundations as other arts and it is time these foundations were explored. For this symposium Charlotte will present a paper exploring a small chunk of the foundations: that of the role of experience in the interpretation of an illustration.
