Steve originally worked in London as a freelance illustrator where he developed a strong interest in narrative and sequential illustration.
Represented in both the UK and USA, his client list includes Sunday Times, Radio Times, TV Times, Financial times, Puffin Books, Corgi, Heinemann, Macmillan, Scholastic, Kvaerner, Lloyds bank, British Telecom, Heinemann, Norwich union, Sceptre, Illustrated London News, Woman’s Journal, Reader’s Digest, Mosby , Hutchinson, and Hodder & Stoughton. He has been represented in the UK by Allied Artists, Canvas, David Lewis illustration agency, Graphite and in the US by Gerald & Cullen Rapp.
Steve’s authorial publications include Something Amiss on the Moor, Polyphony and The Riddlers.
He was headhunted by University College Falmouth in 1987 where he went on to found the MA in authorial illustration, now in its tenth year. In 1994 he was invited to become a member of the Society of Illustrators in New York. In 1998, Steve founded Atlantic Press, which publishes high quality authorial illustration books and graphic novels (www.atlanticpressbooks.com)
Steve’s most recent work was a collaborative project working with students of Trinity Laban in Greenwich for which he co-authored a contemporary dance piece The Empties Collector, creating an animation, in the spring of this year.
