Catrin completed an MA in Communication Art and Design at the Royal College of Art in 2008. Since graduating she has exhibited internationally and has work in the British Library collection. Catrin’s back ground is in Fine Art and her practice combines an artistic practice with an illustrative sensibility. She has now returned to the RCA in order to undertake a practice based research degree exploring deception and its relationship with illustration.
Catrin has been awarded a scholarship from the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust in support of her research. The fictional spaces she investigates and draws upon for her own work are described in Phantom Settlements, a publication from Ditto Press made in collaboration with Mireille Fauchon. This summer Catrin completed a year long artists residency at the Florence Trust with a body of work that looked at the online speculation about radio espionage. Rather than deceive, Catrin hopes to use her work to muddy the water.
